Privacy policy
In short: no sign-up, no ads, no advertising or analytics cookies, no tracking. We store only the name you choose to submit to the leaderboard, and we remember IP addresses for up to a day to protect the leaderboard and votes from spam.
This policy follows the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Law of Ukraine “On Personal Data Protection”. The Ukrainian version is the original.
1. Who is responsible
The data controller is the makers of the Dronyata game. Contact: [email].
2. What we collect and why
| Data | Why | Legal basis (GDPR) | How long |
|---|---|---|---|
| Leaderboard name, score, level, stars, time of submission | To show the leaderboard | Your request: you submit the name yourself (Art. 6(1)(b)) | While the leaderboard runs, or until you ask us to delete it |
| IP address | To limit submissions and votes per address, against spam and forged scores | Legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f)) | Only in the server’s memory, up to 24 hours; never written to disk |
| Visitor’s country (two-letter code provided by Cloudflare) | To pick the Game’s default language | Legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f)) | Not stored |
| Roadmap votes | To count what players want | Legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f)) | Only a total count is stored, not linked to you |
| Emails you send us | To reply | Legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f)) | As long as the conversation needs, at most 2 years |
3. Data in your browser
The Game keeps your progress, chosen character, language, sound and hint settings, last entered name, scores for when the server is unreachable, and your votes in browser storage (localStorage). This stays on your device; we never receive it. It is needed for the Game to work the way you set it up, so no consent is required (Art. 5(3) of the EU ePrivacy Directive). You can erase it by clearing the site data in your browser settings.
4. Cookies
We don’t set cookies. Cloudflare, which delivers the website, may set a technical cookie to protect against bots; it is not used for ads or tracking. That’s why there is no cookie banner.
5. Who else sees data
- Cloudflare, Inc. (USA) delivers the website and protects it from attacks. All requests pass through it, including your IP address. Transfers to the USA rely on the EU Standard Contractual Clauses and the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
- Contabo GmbH (Germany) hosts the server that stores the leaderboard. [check data centre country]
- Payment services (Monobank, Ko-fi, PayPal, crypto networks): if you donate, the service processes your data under its own policy. We only see what it shows us, such as the amount and your comment.
Server and Cloudflare technical logs may contain your IP address and the page address. We use them only for security and fixing errors, and keep them no longer than 30 days. [check log settings]
We don’t sell your data or share it for advertising.
6. Children
The Game is intended for people aged 16 and over. We don’t knowingly collect children’s data. If you believe a child has submitted their real name to the leaderboard, email us and we will delete it.
7. Your rights
You can ask us to show, correct or delete your data, restrict or object to its processing, or receive it in a portable format. Since we don’t know who you are, for a leaderboard request please give the name and the level. We reply within a month.
You also have the right to complain to a supervisory authority: the data protection authority of your EU country, or in Ukraine, the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights.
8. Changes
If we start collecting other data, for example by adding analytics, we will update this page first. The date of the last change is shown at the top.
